YAYA DIALLO Musician/Author of Mali, West Africa

(PRLEAP.COM) Yaya Diallo Musician/Author of Mali, West Africa

Yaya Diallo, master drummer, musician and author from Mali, West Africa exposes myths and shares his insights into African music, culture, and society in a new series of articles titled "Djembe Drum Music – Yaya Diallo Interrupts the Silence’ to begin near the end of September published by Music Dish, http://www.musicdish.com .

Previous articles—"The Destruction of African Culture,’ "The Meaning of Music,’ and "The Effects of Sound’ can be read on the Yaya Diallo News, Articles and Communication group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/yaya_diallo .

Yaya Diallo says music is as important as the blood in his veins – the essence of the African soul. He writes, "Playing music to benefit people was the fundamental value of our musical culture… At present we are witnessing the massacre of the African culture… The old initiators no longer have young people to educate… adoptive religion had as its objective the killing of the last savage and they have shouted ‘mission accomplished!’ I doubt that it is.’

Yaya Diallo’s traditional West African and popular kanza music on Onzou Records can be listened to on New Music Canada, http://www.newmusiccanada.com/genres/artist.cfm?Band_id=7862 .

Yaya Diallo currently teaches music and dance at Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY, leads "Healing Drum Tours’ to Mali, and is planning the creation of traditional African healing centers. Yaya Diallo is available for performances, solo, accompanied and with his band KANZA as well as for lectures and workshops.
