The love of his culture to his carefully crafted socially consious lyrics have been a force and a major influence in the Reggeaton genre, no longer considered a movement . Many of his songs remain in the club scene and are considered HOT Reggaeton classics. From recording and colloborating with one of the hottest hip/hop-R&B artist NAS, to sharing ideas with DJ Tony Touch this reggeaton artist has sure made a mark for himself not only with the Latin market but with the Anglo hip/hop market as well. He has had platinum status with 3 prior albums and in 2002 had the biggest selling Reggeaton album titled "El Cangri.com". If that wasn’t enough his last album released in 2003 "Home-Runes" reached record breaking sales which prompted a full house concert with over 12,000 screaming fans dancing to their Daddy’s tunes in the historic Roberto Clemente Coliseum in Puerto Rico. In July, Daddy Yankee released by far one of the most completed albums in his career, "Barrio Fino". Showing his love and loyalty to the delicious songs of Salsa he was able to colloborate with one of the most influential salsa artist around, Andy Montanez on the title track "Melao".
