POKER FACES ARE NO MATCH FOR BOXUM™

(PRLEAP.COM) Cocoa, FL – (August 3, 2004) - Why watch poker or casino games on TV when playing a fast-paced, strategic dice game is much more entertaining? Give the TV a rest and bring the excitement of Boxum™ into your home.

T.J. Gear Co.’s new Boxum game combines all of the elements of great casino style gaming with the reward of good times with family and friends.

"The strongest characteristic of a game like Boxum is that it has all the thrills of healthy competition without the negative affects associated with real gambling,’ said Pete Bell, president of T.J. Gear and creator of Boxum. "I guess, if the players really wanted to substitute real money instead of the Boxum Bucks they could, but we feel that Boxum is meant for fun and intellectual gain. Once real money is incorporated, the outcome of the game could be detrimental to the players. The only real money that should be involved with Boxum is the $29.95 to purchase it.’

Most games have restrictions or fundamentals that hinder involvement from players of all ages. Boxum brings a different approach to the table. Two adults can play Boxum just as easily as a family with young children can. Boxum sees no bias to age. The game is also a great way for a parent to teach their child the value of money because the cash used in the game is only play-money. "Boxum is a healthy game for adults and children,’ said Bell. "We even offer a version called Boxum Alphabet Animal Zoo for very young game players.’

Boxum has a new and unique approach to making numbers a form of leisure. Players use Boxum Bucks to enter the game, which becomes the jackpot. The object of the game is to enclose all the numbers (1-12) on a place card by rolling the dice. For example, if a player rolls an eight consisting of a die with the number three and the other with the number five, they have the option to put up walls on the side of both the three and five on their board or a single wall next to the number eight. Every time a player boxes in a number, all of the other players have to pay the equivalent to the number enclosed. The first player to hem in all of their numbers wins the round and the jackpot. The last surviving player with the most money wins the game.

Not only can up to four people play, but if a Boxum lover desires to brush up on their strategy, they can practice the game by themselves. The game is offered in an electronic downloadable version where the player competes against the computer. "T.J. Gear Co. is in the process of putting together a website where online Boxum tournaments can be held. This will allow for players to interact from all over the world. Televised casino games lack that form of interaction with their viewers,’ Bell smiles again.

T.J. Gear Co. was founded by Pete Bell in 2004, with the creation of Boxum. The idea for the game came to Bell in a sudden flash while in his Naples, FL home. From Boxum’s birth, Bell began to place the game into retailers in the Orlando area. Since then, the game has been placed in stores across the country. Bell started international distribution of the game in Puerto Rico and it is now sold in several other countries throughout the world. When Bell teamed up with computer programmer, John Carpenter, an Internet download version of the game was born and the current plans are to use the electronic version for online tournaments. Determined to stay true to his vision, Bell has turned down offers from reputable toy manufacturers in order to maintain complete control over the direction Boxum will take. The company’s core philosophy forms the foundation from which Boxum was created and the company built: to provide products that will be an enjoyment to the public for many years to come and to bring prosperity to as many as possible.
