The Hartford native, who currently resides in West Hartford, utilizes written word to describe the process of defining, battling and defeating negative emotions associated with the struggles he faced during that time in his life. The poems are formatted in chronological order, taking the reader from early memories portrayed by simple poetry and progressing to more poignant prose that attacks certain issues from all sides utilizing vivid imagery and personification of emotions. Under the Melting Pot has a clear and concise message. In the author’s own words the idea is simple, "Learn to forgive — but never forget!"
