HIGHLY EFFECTIVE NEW PROGRAM DEVELOPED FOR DEALING WITH ADDICTIONS: Success Rates Range From 72% to 92% For Marijuana, Cigarettes, Cocaine, Alcohol and Overeating (Weight Control).

(PRLEAP.COM) A new highly effective program called Self-Programmed Control or SPC for dealing with substance abuse developed by clinical psychologist Alfred A. Barrios, Ph.D. is presented in the form of a 20 page handbook called The Habit Buster ($4.95 @ amazon.com). The book starts out by presenting the dramatically highly successful results of a large-scaled study done at four different Los Angeles area colleges (UCLA, East Los Angeles, Southwest and Santa Monica Colleges) involving 313 students. The success rates achieved in this study were as follows: Overcoming marijuana 72%; cigarettes 73%, overeating 78%; cocaine 83%; and alcohol 92%.
As pointed out in the book, the advantages of the SPC program and reasons for the high success rates are: (1) The techniques used (a combination of a unique form of self-hypnosis and biofeedback) facilitate re-programming. The biggest problem with most people is that it is very hard to change. SPC eliminates this problem. (2) The techniques used produce immediate feedback, immediate confirmation of their effectiveness; i.e., they produce a heightened state of belief which is the greatest catalyst for facilitating change. (3) The program effectively deals with three main areas playing key roles in addiction: Stress; Depression; and Willpower (sense of control). People develop addictions either because of a need to tranquilize, a need to counter depression with pleasure, a lack of willpower or a combination of all three. (4) The program is easy to learn and teach.
The program is so easy to learn that anyone sincerely wanting to break free of any addiction can do so now by working with the Habit Buster. The Habit Buster actually consists of two parts. In addition to the handbook there is also a biofeedback card. This card is literally a hands on biofeedback device for effectively dealing with stress. With the card, color changes on touch from black to red to green to blue as you become more relaxed. The handbook in turn provides simple to use techniques for insuring that any factors underlying stress and depression are effectively programmed out. I.e., you will now be able to more easily get rid of any negative habits and attitudes which underlie stress and depression.
Further information on the Habit Buster and SPC program can be found at the SPC website, www.stresscards.com, in the following sections: Books, Articles and Workshops.
