BioDefense Corporation Unveils 2-Door MailDefender System at Mailcom

(PRLEAP.COM) Lexington, MA — BioDefense Corporation, the leader in portable anthrax decontamination units for the office and home, is unveiling its 2-door MailDefender System.

The system utilizes proven disinfection technologies such as ultraviolet, microwave, and a proprietary antimicrobial compound to stop biological pathogens like anthrax before they invade a workplace environment; protecting people and property from terrorist’s attacks and threats.

MailDefender effectively decontaminates deadly and harmful bio-contaminants and certain chemicals, including anthrax, ricin, smallpox, plague, e-Coli, influenza, HIV and botulism. (In some tests, mail was decontaminated at a level nearly 1,000% more effective than the U.S. Army’s standard of safety.)

Michael Y. Lu is the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and the founder of the company. "When used at the point where mail enters a building, or used to respond to a biohazard threat, our technology will effectively help government, businesses and individuals defend themselves against dangerous bio-contaminants," he said.

A Brush With Fate On September 11, 2001.
A Call To Action.
Michael Lu and Jonathan Morrone, Director, Senior Vice President of BioDefense Corporation, narrowly missed a fate at the World Trade Center on September 11. Both were scheduled to be in the North Tower for a meeting at the time when the terrorists crashed American Airlines flight 11 into the tower. By virtue of last minute complications with their schedules and traveling arrangements, they were not in the building. The two people they were to meet with perished in the attack.

Between the September 11 attacks and the deadly anthrax attacks during the fall of 2001, they were motivated to play an active role in the fight against terrorism and in support of homeland defense. Michael Lu believed that he could use his engineering background to create instruments and systems that protect people from harmful biological agents and help provide peace of mind.

"My team and I are passionately dedicated to developing technologies and products that are created to help keep people all over the world safe from the threats of bio-terrorism and other biological hazards," said Michael Lu.

MailDefender sells for $60,000 and is offered as the first line of defense for government agencies and large corporations.
