Premio Named As Top 10 Supplier of Computer Technology In The Classroom

(PRLEAP.COM) CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA. For the tenth consecutive quarter, Gartner Dataquest has ranked Premio Computer, Inc. in the top 10 of computer vendors to the U.S. education market. In Gartner’s quarterly PC statistics research, released May 9, Premio was ranked at number 8 for the first quarter of 2003. The rankings are based on shipments of desktop PCs, mobile PCs and servers.

The top ten vendors in the U.S. education market include other industry leaders, such as Dell, HP/Compaq, Apple, Gateway, IBM, Acer and Toshiba, with Premio ranking above both Systemax and Sony. Premio has now maintained its top 10 vendor ranking for over two years. Education is a key market segment for the company, which also sells computer systems to businesses and government agencies throughout North and South America.

“The fact that Premio has consistently been ranked among such industry heavyweights in a fiercely competitive market says a lot about our company,” said Tom Tsao, Vice President for Premio Computer. “Though we are not as widely known as some of our competitors, we have gained a firm foothold in this market through a strong word-of-mouth reputation and a solid commitment to education. We also offer local support from a national company - something the larger companies can’t offer, but which our customers value very much.”

Premio also supports U.S. education through a number of programs and partnerships, including donations, educational seminars and internship programs.

As a major supporter of the Intel Model School Program, Premio Computer has contributed approximately 200 new desktop and notebook systems to Whitney High School in Cerritos, California. In addition to building the systems, Premio has participated in every stage of the integration process and provides ongoing system maintenance support for the school, to ensure that Whitney High School’s “smart classrooms” provide a working example of technology integration for schools across the nation.

In addition, Premio offers eSembler for Education™, an innovative application that provides students, teachers, parents, and administrators with a Web-based interface for managing grades, assignments, attendance, calendars, and communications within a K-12 environment. By providing secure parent access to student grade information, eSembler for Education helps schools meet the requirements of the No Child Left Behind law.
