Caryl Mann's art exhibition opens at Wealden House

(PRLEAP.COM) Caryl Mann, well known for her paintings of Ashdown Forest, opened her art exhibition with a Preview party yesterday in the recently restored panelled room at Wealden House, East Grinstead. Among the many guests in attendence were the artists Cathy Roberts-Bird, who exhibited at Wealden House last December, and Nicola Tupholme who will be exhibiting there in a few months.

On display are many paintings of Ashdown Forest and other areas of the UK, Caryl’s semi-abstract work entitled "Paint the sea with light" and the unfinished work in progress, "Paint the sky with stars".

"I just love this room. The dark panels really bring out the colours in my work. I think it is a lovely venue for artists to show their work," said Caryl.

Caryl paints in acrylics, water colours, gouache, pastels and oils. She was elected to the Society of Women Artists in 1994. She has exhibited at the David Curzon Gallery, and other exhibitions.

Caryl studied fine arts at Eastbourne College of Art. She began her career as art buyer for an advertising agency. Her company, run in partnership with her husband, supplied Top Shop with their own label merchandise.

The exhibition runs from 9.30am to 5.00pm Mon to Fri, from Mon 9th Feb to Fri 27 Feb.
