Mr Bonx Restores the Grounds of Wealden House

(PRLEAP.COM) Working in the pouring rain or sub-zero temperatures holds no fear for Andrew Trigwell a.k.a. Mr Bonx. The local writer and musician who has 3 rock CDs to his name has taken on the challenge to restore the four-and-a-half acre grounds at Wealden House, East Grinstead, which itself is also currently being completely restored.

"Victorians took great pride in their gardens and actually considered them to be part of the furnishings," says Andrew. "The basic structure is there at Wealden House but it hasn’t been touched for 30 years so I have some work to do! There is an abundance of sandstone borders and huge rocks in the woodland garden, split-level terraced lawns and some beautiful mature trees which must have been planted when the house was built around 1870."

Andrew worked for Lord and Lady De La Warr and the Sackville family at Buckhurst Park, near Withyham for several years, most of the work being restoration and development of established gardens so he is well qualified for the job at hand.

"As with my music, it allows me to be creative," he says.

Wealden House, located on the A22 next to Brambletye School, is currently housing an art exhibition and is undergoing a total restoration programme. For more information, call 01342 326130 or 0777 152 0001.
