(PRLEAP.COM) SAN ANTONIO, TX — In appreciation of the outstanding work being done by numerous local community organizations, Univision Radio-San Antonio has recently presented donations to several organizations. The organizations range from health care providers for the uninsured and under-insured, to youth programs, to battered women facilities. U.S. Congressmen Charlie Gonzalez and Ciro Rodriguez presented checks on January 14th in San Antonio to Barrio Comprehensive Health Care Center, Calderon Boys and Girls Club, Wesley Community Center, Battered Women’s Shelter of Bexar County, Mission San Jose Catholic Church, Our Lady of the Angels, St. Leonard’s Catholic Church and St. Leo’s Catholic Church on behalf of the Univision Radio family.

Univision Radio-San Antonio VP/General Manager, Dan Wilson said, "I am very proud to represent all of the Univision family in recognizing the vital need for community service. We are delighted to be able to help these worthy organizations and hopefully these contributions will help further their great work in our community. We genuinely appreciate the help and assistance of Congressman Rodriguez and Congressman Gonzalez in this important endeavor."

Congressman Rodriguez stated, "I would like to add that if it wasn’t enough Univision has been so generous with these contributions, they are already providing a great service to us by helping educate us about what happens in our communities and throughout the world. We were able to help out and do this in conjunction with all those who work with Univision. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to participate and want to thank Univision personally for what they have done. Congratulations!"

Congressman Gonzalez concluded, "I am grateful that Univision Radio has proven to be a good corporate citizen in San Antonio, and through their support, these organizations will be better able to serve the needs of San Antonio."

Univision Radio contacted Congressman Gonzalez and Congressman Rodriguez for help in selecting community organizations that could use financial contributions to further their work in the San Antonio community. Congressman Gonzalez mentioned in his remarks that Univision Radio has proven to be a good corporate citizen in voluntarily helping the selected organizations. Congressman Rodriguez said that it takes the public and private sector working together to keep these important community programs operating.
